Applying Digital Technology in Today's Dentistry

Dr. Harshit Aggarwal is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist in Annandale, Virginia. He graduated from Nair Hospital Dental College in Mumbai, where he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2004. Upon moving to the United States, he attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now known as Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he earned a certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. A is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists; Fellow of the American Association of Maxillofacial Prosthodontics; member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon; and honorary clinician of the NYCDT Study Club. He also serves as the President of the VaACP and is co-chair of the VDA-PAC committee.
Dr. A was a faculty member at Marquette University School of Dentistry and served as Chair of Pre-doctoral Prosthodontics and Biomaterials during his tenure. He also served on the Master’s Committee for Prosthodontic Residents and reviewed manuscripts for the Journal of Prosthodontics and the Journal of Prosthodontics. He mentored many students in poster presentations and has lectured extensively.
Currently, Dr. A maintains a restorative and general practice in NoVa, featuring an integrated dental lab and a medspa. 

Dr. Harshit will present the whole range of digital technology and its applications in dentistry today. This will include dynamic navigated surgery, Photogrammetry, Intra-oral scanning, 3-D printing, and implant treatment overviews.

Medical Malpractice Litigation

Kristin Pierson is a Partner with BENDIN SUMRALL & LADNER, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her law degree from the Charleston School of Law in Charleston, South Carolina, where she founded the Health Law & Bioethics Society and served as its President, creating the law school’s annual Bioethics Symposium. Kristin also served as a member of the Moot Court Board and the Charleston Law Review, and she worked with the Medical University of South Carolina to establish a collaborative teaching relationship between the medical school and the law school.
Kristin received her undergraduate degree in Health Law and Bioethics from Davidson College, where she graduated with honors as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. While at Davidson, she co-founded Davidson’s Bioethics Society and started The Ethical View, a bioethics publication of the Medical Humanities Department. She served on Davidson’s Medical Humanities Advisory Council, Ethics Committees, and its Human Subjects Institutional Review Board. She also served on the Ethics Committee at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a consultant, and conducted an extensive two-year clinical internship in the Level 1 hospital’s Trauma Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Before joining the firm, Kristin served as a Trauma & Risk Management Research Specialist at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in North Carolina and then as a Research Coordinator at Emory University School of Medicine, where she conducted neurosurgery research on traumatically brain-injured patients at Grady Memorial Hospital under the then–Chief of Neurosurgery, Dr. Odette Harris. Kristin was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and moved to Atlanta in 1996. She enjoys running and cooking Louisiana Cajun and Creole favorites, such as gumbo, jambalaya, and étouffée. PROFESSIONAL NEGLIGENCE/MEDICAL MALPRACTICE Kristin represents hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other allied health care professionals in medical malpractice and intentional tort lawsuits, as well as in pre-litigation medical malpractice matters, including Georgia Composite Medical Board matters. GENERAL LIABILITY Kristin also represents hospitals in general liability matters, including trip-and-fall and slip-and-fall litigation, and in hospital inpatient transfer and discharge practice matters, as well as ethical-legal matters that arise in the course of day-to-day medical care.

How Did We Get Here? Fluoride Use: Controversies, Clinical Applications, and Community Water

Liz holds two roles at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic (LCPC) as the executive director and pediatric dentist. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry andreceived board certification in 2011 from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  Liz has a BA in Biology and Public Policy from Duke University, a DMD from the University OfPennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Public Health, Department of Health Policyand Management. She completed her residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in Pediatric Dentistry in 2009. Liz provides all aspects of pediatric dental care, includingcleft and craniofacial care, special needs and hospital dentistry. She holds hospital privileges at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and Penn Medicine – Lancaster General Healthand a faculty position in the Penn State College of Medicine. As executive director at LCPC, she works with the clinic’s board of directors to oversee financial management,development, marketing and communications at the clinic. At the national level, Liz is a board member for the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association.  Outside of the office, Lizenjoys spending time with her family, photography and travel. She is married, has two sons and a dog. She enjoys working with patients throughout their childhood as they mature intosuccessful adults.

Oral Medicine for Everyday Practice

Dr. Roopali Kulkarni is a board-certified specialist in oral medicine. She is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and serves as the Assistant Director of the postgraduate oral medicine residency program. She pursued both her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) and Master of Public Health degrees (M.P.H.) and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her postgraduate residency training in Oral Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She currently teaches predoctoral and postdoctoral students clinically and didactically. She was the 2022 and 2025 recipient of the Penn Dental Medicine Earle Bank Hoyt Award for dedication and excellence in teaching, and the 2025 recipient of the Martin S. Greenberg Teaching Award in Oral Medicine. Her scholarly activity focuses on research within oral medicine and public health. She is an active researcher in the World Workshop on Oral Medicine and at Penn Dental Medicine’s Center for Integrative Global Oral Health. She is a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, she treats patients within the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Kulkarni is a Fellow in both the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Her professional involvement spans multiple organizations; she serves as Co-Chair of the Bridging the Gaps Alumni Network and on the Penn Dental Medicine Alumni Society board. She also serves as a national media spokesperson and on the Council of Scientific Affairs for the American Dental Association, as President-Elect of the Philadelphia County Dental Society, and on multiple councils and committees within the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine. She is a 2024 recipient of the American Dental Association's “10 Under 10” Award and the Pennsylvania Dental Association Recognition Award, celebrating her passion for dental education. She travels across the country providing educational lectures on topics in oral medicine, public health, and leadership development.
